Learning to play the piano or keyboard offers numerous benefits for seniors, enhancing both mental and physical well-being. Playing music stimulates the brain, improving memory, cognitive function, and concentration. It also supports hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, which can help counteract age-related decline. Beyond physical benefits, piano lessons provide a creative outlet, reducing stress and fostering emotional expression. They also offer opportunities for social interaction, boosting mood and combating loneliness.
Join instructor Katherine Dupra, from the Eastman Community Music School, for 9 weekly lessons, at the PCC! Keyboards will be supplied for the classes. Who knows, you may just end up in one of the New Horizon ensembles!
